Dottie Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Dottie.

By using the Service, you confirm that:

• You are 18 years of age or older.
• You are legally capable of entering a binding agreement.
• You will use the Service in accordance with applicable laws.

If we discover that you are under 18, we will terminate your account and delete associated data.

2. Account Registration

To use Dottie:

• You must create an account and provide accurate, up-to-date information.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You may not impersonate others or share your credentials.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Community Guidelines and User Conduct

You agree to follow our community guidelines and:

• Respect others and interact responsibly.
• Not post or share harmful, illegal, or offensive content.
• Not use Dottie for harassment, impersonation, spamming, or fraud.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

4. Real-World Interactions and Safety

Dottie connects people for social events and meetups. You acknowledge that:

• You are solely responsible for your interactions and safety.
• Dottie does not conduct background checks.
• Meet in public places and take safety precautions.

You can report inappropriate behavior using in-app tools or by contacting sayhello@dottie.app.

5. User Content and Licensing

You may post or upload content such as photos and event listings. By doing so:

• You grant Dottie a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and display that content within the app.
• You confirm that you own the content or have rights to use it.
• We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

6. Data Usage and Your Rights

You retain ownership of your personal data. By using Dottie, you allow us to collect and process it as described in our privacy practices.

You have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your data.
• Download your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time.

7. Payments, Subscriptions and Refunds

Some features may require payment:

• Transactions are processed by Apple or Google Play.

Dottie may link to or integrate third-party services such as Ticketmaster or Google Maps. These are not controlled by us and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for external services or interactions that occur on them.

9. Privacy, Security and Data Transfers

We take reasonable security measures to protect your data.

Some services may be hosted outside of Canada. In such cases, data is protected under GDPR, PIPEDA, and other relevant data protection standards.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

• You violate these Terms or community rules.
• You are under 18.
• Required by law or in response to harmful conduct.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Dottie is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free service.

All warranties, express or implied, are disclaimed to the maximum extent allowed by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted:

• Dottie and 14737521 CANADA are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
• We are not responsible for issues arising from third-party services or user interactions.

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the app.

13. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

We will try to resolve disputes informally. If we cannot:

• All claims will be settled through binding arbitration in Toronto, Canada.
• You waive your right to participate in class actions.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
